50th Anniversary

The 2013-2014 season marks the 50th Anniversary for Pennsylvania Ballet. Barbara Weisberger, a protégé of George Balanchine, established the Pennsylvania Ballet company in 1963 through a Ford Foundation initiative  to develop regional professional dance companies. A year later, the Ballet made its official Philadelphia debut with a performance at the University of Pennsylvania's Irvine Auditorium. Join us in celebrating this movement 50 years in the making.
